Tattoo Philosophy?
You deserve to be tattooed with patience, understanding, and a scrutinizing eye for detail. Whether it’s a back piece or a flash design, each tattoo gets the same attentive care from me. I am a participant of slow art in a world that demands instantaneous results. I like to schedule one client per day, I find it much more relaxing knowing we aren’t on a time constraint - so I really love to work on larger projects or buddy tattoos.
Certain areas or specific designs can have extra sensitivity, hold spiritual significance, or just require some extra communication. You will always have a voice when working with me and I encourage people to speak up if they want something changed or moved. To accommodate I account for extra time to get the design’s flow/scale to fit with your anatomy.
All are welcome in my chair. I’m lucky to have the support of my clientele who have allowed me become familiar with and continue to learn about many different body types, skin ages & varieties.

Tattooing

Scarring/Hyperpigmentation: Being Southeast Asian + a bit hypermobile I’m most familiar with skin similar to mine, which I’d describe as: soft, elastic, prone to scarring and hyperpigmentation, and unfortunately is damaged very easily by heavy-handed pressure. I strive to avoid overworking the skin as much as possible during the tattooing process. I like to say that I’d rather underbake a cake versus overbake it, as it is much easier to come in for a touch-up if needed, rather than dealing with a fuzzy, raised, or scarred tattoo.
Skin Pigmentation: I have experience tattooing on both ends of the skin spectrum. To ensure the best possible results, I will carefully adjust the contrast for clients who are heavily melanated or very pale. I’m happy to have a brief rundown of your preferences before we begin, and I always make it a priority to listen to and thoughtfully take into account any concerns or worries you may have.
Eczema/Acne: I haven’t had any issues tattooing in areas where people are typically prone to flare-ups and sensitivities. However, if there are any open sores or significant skin irritations in the tattoo area, I must avoid that spot entirely during the session. In those instances, I will work with you to schedule a touch-up appointment to ensure that we can tattoo that area
Stretch Marks: It is no issue if the design goes over a stretch mark. Only when tattooing a complex design over many stretch marks that we have to be very precise as the skin is thinner and can be more prone to visible blowouts or inconsistencies. That is not to say we cannot do it, just account for it taking some extra time.
Warping/Loose Skin: It is natural for our bodies to fold and shift, our bodies will change over time so it is inevitable that your tattoo will twist or warp. I will have to stretch loose or warped skin extra which may add some extra time, but is no issue to me.
Bumpy / Textured / Strawberry Skin: It’s completely normal to have texture on your skin, when tattooing over any type of skin texture bump it will most of the time not hold the pigment very well in my experience. You may have to come in for a touch-up which is as to be expected.

I primarily specialize in illustrative work in the exhibited portfolio of this website. I focus on the line, shape, value, space, and silhouette of each tattoo to encourage graceful aging and legibly. I have strength in symmetrical and ornamental work that relies on a sharp & precise attention for detail. I also have experience with large-scale tattoos, torso pieces, and expansive pieces that go over multiple ares of the body. I enjoy long, multi session projects that push into the territory of not just being a tattoo, but body art.

Flash - Repeatable Designs.
Concept - These are non-repeatable, pre-drawn designs. Ask for a variation if already claimed! Price will vary if it is a large multi-session project.
Custom - Custom work is when I take in your ideas, concepts, and references and create a one-of-one design just for you.
-
Sometimes- it really depends on the specific tattoo we are looking to cover up. The nature of cover-ups often requires a bit more patience and a strong sense of trust between us. If that is something you are comfortable with and open to embracing, then we can certainly work together to find a creative solution that meets your needs and vision.

Yes, if you are struggling to conceptualize what your ideas I offer in-person consultations. They are 1 hour long and we’ll meet at the shop located in Portland, Oregon..
I encourage you take the time to make a list of what you do & don’t want so you walk in with a loose plan. Much of this is based on “feeling” and “vibe” I do not expect you to have the artistic terminology to describe what you want fleshed out, but it helpful to have a path for guidance.

When I show you the tattoo design the day of our appointment and it ends up not being a right fit that is okay! If the changes are small I can typically still tattoo you in the same day, you’ll just be sent off for a bit while I finish the new drawing. If I have to completely redraw the design I will reschedule you and you will pay a new drawing fee for the new design. The old design will be repurposed as flash or a one-off concept.
Payment

Currently no Minimum Cost. I can easily do a teeny tiny tattoo for those who want them.
Flash: $150/hr for Limbs. $175/hr for Torso Placements.
Custom: $150/hr for Limbs. $175/hr for Torso Placements. + $0-$100 drawing fee.
I’m happy to work with tattoos of all budgets. We can always split up a session or if something changes financially close to the appointment date we can adapt our plan easily :)
If we go any larger or the skin in the area is especially stretchy, it will be reflected in time + cost due to it naturally taking a bit longer with it being more physically intensive.
